Biography of an American Artist

Although the decision to become an artist was made in southern California where Cheryl was born, her serious study began while living in Texas and Oklahoma. She began participating in solo and group exhibitions in these states and California until moving to Oregon where she continues to teach and sell her work through art galleries and art shows.

While her primary focus has been oil painting, her interest has shifted recently to a highly expressive mixed media technique. Using acrylic paint, handmade paper, stones, beads and fibers, her work has become highly symbolic.
